Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma began their week on a spiritual note, visiting Premanand Maharaj at the Keli Kunj Ashram in Vrindavan. The couple arrived early on Tuesday morning, around 5:30 a.m., and spent nearly an hour immersed in prayers, devotional singing and discourse.

A video shared on the ashram’s YouTube channel, Bhajan Marg, captured Kohli and Anushka seated quietly among devotees, listening attentively to Premanand Maharaj’s teachings and participating in the keertan. The visit carried added emotional significance as it came just days after their son Akaay’s birthday on February 15, making it a deeply personal family moment.

This is not the couple’s first spiritual retreat to Vrindavan. Over the years, they have made several private visits to seek guidance and blessings. In a previous interaction, Premanand Maharaj had spoken to them about life’s higher purpose and the path of devotion under a guru’s guidance — themes that appear to resonate strongly with the duo.

Kohli and Anushka’s spiritual journey has become more visible in recent years. In 2023, they visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain and also offered prayers at the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram, reinforcing their growing inclination towards faith and reflection amid demanding professional schedules.

On the cricketing front, Kohli is set for a busy calendar. He will soon rejoin Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the upcoming Indian Premier League season, where the franchise enters as defending champions — a first in their history. Expectations will naturally be high.

Following the IPL, Kohli will represent India in a crucial ODI series in England starting July 14 in Birmingham. Fresh off a stellar 240-run tally against New Zealand earlier this year, fans will hope the spiritual reset translates into another dominant run with the bat.
