India started their chase well against Pakistan in match 12 of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, the blood pressure of the fans also shot up for a bit as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were involved in a horrible mix-up. It happened during the 9th over when Haris Rauf bowled a low full toss to Rohit Sharma, who played it towards the mid-on.
As he played, he immediately ran for a run and there was a yes-no moment between the two. Virat Kohli looked back at the ball and said no. But Rohit Sharma was halfway down and Virat Kohli charged and put in a dive. Had there been the direct hit, it would’ve been curtains for the batter. After the mixup between the two pioneers of cricket, they exchanged smiles.

Virat Kohli didn’t last long after that mix-up, as he was back in the hut in the very next over. He perished to Hasan Ali, who bowled a short of a length delivery outside off stump.
The batter tried to play the pull shot towards mid but he mistimed it and handed a dolly. Virat Kohli scored 16 runs off 18 balls, smashing three fours in his innings. After his wicket, Rohit Sharma continued his carnage on the Pakistan bowlers and slammed a staggering half-century. He made the bowlers look clueless with his batting.

The mix-up between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma was a bit of a scare for India, but they were able to recover and eventually win the match by a comfortable margin.
