Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore have won a thrilling win over Delhi Capitals by one run at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. While defending 14 runs in the final over, Mohammed Siraj was handed over the responsibility and he did exceptionally well to help RCB win as well.
RCB did score a competitive total in their allotted 20 overs whereas unbeaten fifties from Shimron Hetmyer and Rishabh Pant took the game to the final over too, ending it into a thriller as well. Even Virat Kohli also thought that Delhi would win the game after Hetmyer took on the RCB bowlers with ease, especially Kyle Jamieson who smashed three sixes in the 18th over as well. After the game, Kohli applauded Siraj for delivering under pressure as well.
“At one stage I thought it was getting away, but Siraj’s final over gave us confidence and we thought he would manage a professional and clinical job. If there weren’t fielding lapses it wasn’t going to go this far anyway,” Virat Kohli said at the post-match conference.

After having lost the top three players for just 60 runs, AB de Villiers once again did what he can do best and smashed 75 not out off just 42 balls, with the help of three fours and five sixes as well and helped RCB put up a total of 171/5 in their allotted 20 overs.
“AB doesn’t like me saying this, but he hasn’t played competitive cricket for 5 months, but if you look at him bat it doesn’t feel like he doesn’t play international cricket anymore. Hats off to him, keeps doing it again and again for us. Such an asset for us. I’ll say this again (smiles). He hasn’t played for five months, just watch that innings,” said Virat Kohli, applauding the blistering knock of AB de Villiers.
With this win, RCB have once again reached the top spot in the IPL 2021 Points Table, after having won five matches out of six games as well. They will next play against Punjab Kings at the same venue on April 30 as well.
