The Royal CHallengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell has been in sublime form in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League and he continued the purple patch during the ongoing game against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai on Sunday afternoon. Maxwell arrived in the middle when RCB was reeling at 9/2 inside two overs after electing to bat first. Skipper Virat Kohli was already back in the dugout, owing to a brilliant courtesy of a fine fielding effort by Rahul Tripathi, while Rajat Patidar was the second man to depart.

However, Maxwell took charge and handled eth responsibility of scoring run along with Devdutt Padikkal as the pair added 86 runs for the third wicket before Prasidh Krishna provided KKR with the third breakthrough in the form of Padikkal.

During the course of the partnership, the star Australian batsman, who also is holding the orange cap, completed his half-century in 28 balls after he pushed a fuller delivery by Pat Cummins towards the long-on region for a single.

Maxwell played a smashing knock of  76 from 44 balls with AB de Villiers on the other end. Both the batsman added 53 runs for the 4th wicket as RCB reached a huge target of 204/5 in their quota of 20 over. Earlier, Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first and they made one change in their squad by replacing Dan Christian with Rajat Patidar, who failed to get going.
