Notably, after the scores of the two teams were level at 201 in their quota of 20 overs, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers came down to chase the 8-run target in the Super Over. With one run needed off the final ball, Virat smashed his first boundary of the IPL 2020 to seal the win for his team who are in quest of their maiden IPL title.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, Virat Kohli had revealed that he just blindly followed AB de Villiers to the field during the Super Over after the later had said, “I am going in”.

After the win, Kohli said, “Well, look, I thought about it, to be honest, but then I thought, okay, Jasprit [Bumrah]’s going to bowl, he’s going to use the longer boundary – who are the two guys that can probably run the first four balls for two, and that was me and AB. So AB said ‘I’m going’, I said ‘I’m coming with you.’ Yeah, look, it was all about just stepping onto the field, taking responsibility for the team, and yeah, we got a boundary each and got the job done,” Virat Kohli had said after the win.
