Virat Kohli Finally Reacts To AB de Villiers’ Early Retirement

The legendary South African batsman AB de Villiers made a shocking decision of announcing his retirement from all forms of cricket on May 23 and which left the cricketing world shocked. It was hard for ABD fans to digest the announcement all around the world. His retirement announcement soon started Trending on twitter as all the current and former cricketers expressed their emotions on De Villiers’ decision to hang his boots on their respective social media accounts.

ABD’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate and skipper Virat Kohli took a lot of time to express himself after his ‘brother’s’ retirement. Everyone was waiting for Kohli’s reaction to the shocking decision, as he posted a beautiful message for his mate on Instagram, his post read: “Wish you all the best in everything that you do my brother. You’ve changed the way batting was seen in the time you’ve played international cricket. My best wishes to you and your family for this amazing journey ahead 😃👍”.

In the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the duo carried the burden of their team on their back still failed to secure a spot in the IPL 2018 playoffs by a narrow margin. But Kohli-ABD were the top-scorers for the team in the season.

Kohli scored 530 runs from 14 games at an average of 48.18 including four half-centuries. On the other hand, De Villiers amassed as many as  480 runs from just 12 matches at an average of 53.33 including six half-centuries. The Proteas batsman scored a half-century in the must-win game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) which went in vain.

ABD’s injury in the mid-season forced him to miss out on two matches otherwise it was a probability that he would have scored more than Kohli in IPL 2018.
