Former India skipper, Virat Kohli gave a “passionate team talk” ahead of the team’s practice session in Leicester. The Indian team is toiling hard ahead of the rescheduled fifth Test against England. As part of their preparation, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India will play a warm-up match against English county team Leicestershire between June 23-26.
Kohli was seen giving a pep talk to his teammates on the eve of the practice match. The fifth Test, which was postponed last year, between India and England will begin on July 1 in Birmingham. The BCCI and ECB had jointly postponed the Test after the outbreak of Covid-19. India is currently leading the Test series 2-1.

Virat Kohli and Joe Root, who led India and England last year respectively, resigned as the Test captain earlier this year. While Kohli relinquished the role after India lost the series against South Africa, Root quit the captaincy following the Ashes hammering in Australia and series defeat against West Indies.
Rohit Sharma and Ben Stokes will be leading India and England respectively in the upcoming fifth Test next month.
Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara, who was dropped for the home series against Sri Lanka, earned his ticket to the UK after getting his form back by scoring 720 runs for Sussex in England’s County Championship. He registered two centuries and a double hundred in April-May this year.
