Speaking about the match, Virat Kohli played a gritty knock of 44 in India’s first innings after looking flawless for most of the innings. His dismissal created massive controversy as the ball appeared to touch the bat and pad at the same time, but both the on-field umpire and the third umpire decided that the ball touched the pad before the bat despite no clear evidence of the same.

The hosts found themselves in big trouble at 139-7 before Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin’s century partnership put India back in the game.
