Tweeting about the same, Anushka wrote: “Virat and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund & the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (Maharashtra). Our hearts are breaking looking at the suffering of so many & we hope our contribution, in some way, helps easing the pain of our fellow citizens #IndiaFightsCorona.”

Kohli also posted the same message on his timeline.

Keeping in mind the need for social distancing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day lockdown last week. But the daily wage workers and their families have been going through a lot of trouble. However, certain foundations, organisations and the cricketers along with the celebrities have come forward to help them during these tough times.

At the same time, Narendra Modi also announced the PM CARES relief fund urging the people of the nation to donate in any way possible. All these funds will be used to improve the situation in the country now, may it be for the healthcare system or for the poor and needy people.

While there is no harm in disclosing the amount as the other cricketers have done, Virat has once again led from the front in style. Apart from him, the BCCI has pledged to donate a whopping amount of ₹51 crores while its president Sourav Ganguly has also donated rice of worth ₹50 lakhs for the poor people.
