During the ongoing first ODI between India and South Africa in Paarl, former South Africa skipper, Virat Kohli, and South African skipper, Temba Bavuma engaged in a heated exchange as the former’s fierce throw almost hit the Proteas captain, who was batting at 78. Later, Bavuma notched up his second ODI hundred and ended with 110 runs from 143 balls.
The hosts had a disappointing start to the series opener as they suffered the loss of their opener, Janneman Malan for six runs in the fifth over of the innings.
However, the Proteas captain, Temba Bavuma, and Quinton de Kock made a decent partnership of 39 runs for the second wicket before the latter fell to R Ashwin in the 16th over. After R Ashwin got the crucial wicket of Quinton de Kock, Virat Kohli came towards the off-spinner and was seen hugging him tightly to express the happiness of the moment.

The South Africa opening batsman, who was looking in a good touch was clean bowled by R Ashwin with a peach of a delivery that knocked off the off-stump. Later, Aiden Markram (4), who walked out to bat after the dismissal of de Kock was run out by Venkatesh Iyer with a direct hit at the stumps.
With another wicket down, India had the chance of getting into the South African middle-order, having them at 68/3 and they had to apply more pressure and restrict them to a reasonable score that can easily be chased down by KL Rahul and his men.

However, South African skipper Temba Bavuma staged a revival alongside Rassie van der Dussen to cross the 200-run landmark as they have already made the partnership of more than 150 runs. They will hope to build on this and post a challenging total on the board.
