If there is any cricketer who the fans dare to compare with Sachin Tendulkar, then it’s none other than the present Indian captain, Virat Kohli. Although Sachin is considered God and Virat himself worships him. Virat even doesn’t like him getting compared to Master Blaster. According to Kohli, Tendulkar a no match, he is the reason for him to take on paying the game in first place. We have earlier seen how both adore and respect each other. In 2013 when Virat was going through rough career patch, he went to Sachin for help. Sachin has always praised the skipper for his game.
Kohli now has made a name in world cricket. Recently he got a place in Times Most Influential 100 personalities of 2017. His numbers were the third most ever among cricketers after Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting. Sachin couldn’t stop himself from praising the dedication of the batsman to excel every year in his journal.
“That was the first time I watched this young, passionate player lead India. Today, Virat Kohli is a household name and a champion in cricket. Even back then, his hunger for runs and consistency was remarkable, something that has become the hallmark of his game,” Tendulkar wrote.
Kohli had also a lot of critics at the start of his career. He has been thrashed for his aggressive attitude but Sachin is impressed how Kohli has changed his ways and used these as positives to uplift his game each year.
Kohli got elated to get such a praise from his idol. So he took to Twitter to thank Master Blaster and also Times for including him on the list.
