Virat Kohli was in awe of Shubman Gill’s boundary off Dilshan Madushanka in the ongoing match against Sri Lanka. The 33rd game of the ICC World Cup 2023 is taking place between India and Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill have batted magnificently well after India lost Rohit Sharma (4) early.

Both were tested early on as Sri Lanka bowlers bowled some staggering lines and lengths. However, once they negotiated that phase, they looked stupendous. Both Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill played some glorious shots and added up over 100 runs partnership for the second wicket. Their stand has made sure that India are off to a great start despite losing Rohit Sharma early on.

Virat Kohli was also seen praising Shubman Gill from time to time. He gave a stunning reaction when the young batter hit a stupendous four off Dilshan Madushanka in Mumbai. It happened during the fourth ball of the 16th over.

Dilshan Madushanka bowled a back of a length delivery that was angling across the right-hander. Shubman Gill came down the pitch, backed away, and thumped the drive-through cover. The ball raced away to the ropes in a hurry. Virat Kohli was in awe of the shot and gave a stunning reaction.

After getting life early on, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill made sure that they made full use of it. They batted well and both brought up their half-centuries. Their valiant knocks have made sure that India gets past 100 runs with ease at the Wankhede Stadium. They would be hoping to carry it till the 40th over.
