Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, Faf du Plessis, has said that Virat Kohli is one of his favourite batting partners. He has been in awe of the energy that Kohli brought to the field and termed it infectious as well. However, Kohli and Du Plessis will be back in action for RCB in the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League and they had a great season in the IPL 2023. Du Plessis and Kohli went on to score 730 and 639 runs respectively as well.
“Batting is probably the other thing that the equally we click, you know, it is unbelievable batting with him. He’s one of my favourite guys to bat with. He brings out so much energy in me, like sometimes I feel like I’m fist bumping my glove through his hand because he gets so passionate. Him being out there in the middle, which is really infectious, the way he gives that energy, and I remember being in the opposition and how that really is,” Du Plessis told Star Sports.

“Let’s hope for that amount of energy, because it was like this guy is just always on. How did you manage it? So it’s really infectious, the same thing on the field, because, like catching balls, we are both very competitive, and I make sure we get those good catches for the team. So he’s really important to me in terms of the field. I think, indeed, so many things fast as a team. But fielding is, he said, so he sets the time for the energy on the field,’ du Plessis further added.
However, Faf du Plessis also talked about many more common traits between them, apart from sharing their love for the game. He shared that they also connect over fitness, fashion, food watches as well as their families as well. He also mentioned Virat Kohli’s influence on him over watches and called themselves very conscious in their dress sense as they share a keen interest in styling clothes as well.
“We spent a lot of time in the gym together. We both love food. We are both really into our fashion. That’s another thing that we spend a lot of time talking about. You know, the way we dress and the way we style our clothes, we would send each other pictures of outfits and stuff like that. So we’re very girly and that, and he’s been a terrible influence on me when it comes to watches. But he’s got a real passion for watches. But, yeah, there are so many things. Uh, obviously, now it’s family. He’s got a daughter. I’ve got two daughters. He’s got his second child now as well, our wives and our kids and stuff, having them at similar ages really connected on that front as well,” Faf du Plessis concluded.
