Mumbai Indians are one of the most successful franchises in the history of the Indian Premier League. On Saturday, the five-time champions are all set to face Delhi Capitals in their final IPL 2022 game at the Wankhede Stadium. Among them, are Royal Challengers Bangalore players – Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli as well.
Notably, RCB has a hope of reaching the playoffs when they won the match on the back of Virat Kohli’s knock over Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets. However, their fate is in the hands of the Delhi Capitals game against the Mumbai Indians as well. Delhi Capitals are on 14 points so far with a better Net Run Rate than RCB. A win against Mumbai will seal DC’s chance in the playoffs spot and then RCB will be eliminated too as well. They will have the poorest NRR while having 16 points.

While speaking to captain Faf du Plessis after RCB’s win over GT, Virat Kohli jokingly said that the two of them might even be at the stadium, cheering for Mumbai Indians on Saturday as well.
“Trying to put our feet up and chill out for 2 days and support Mumbai. We have 2 more supporters for Mumbai, not just 2 but I think 25 more supporters,” Kohli said in an interview for the IPL. “You might see us in the stadium as well.” On the other hand, Virat Kohli has returned in form with a 54-ball 73. He got the support from Faf du Plessis who hit a 38-ball 44 as RCB chased down a 169-run target with 8 balls in hand as well.
“For me, the best about batting together, opening the innings has been the experience that we have shared out there in the middle. Applying that experience to give the team starts is something that I am proud of. We just sync together very nicely from the first season itself which is a great thing for the team,” Virat Kohli said.

“I think it has been a challenging time, there is no doubt about it. A lot of things that are not controllable on the field, you experience that for the first time. So I have experienced that in this season. But one thing that stood out to me about yesterday (Wednesday) was my preparation. I batted for about 90 minutes in the nets on the go. All I was trying to do was get into a positive frame of mind. For every ball that I played, I wasn’t looking if the ball was seaming or swinging or turning, I was just watching the ball and reacting and giving myself the most positive option possible. I just extended that into the game,” Virat Kohli concluded.
