In the ongoing series opener of the four-match Test series between India and Australia, the visitors are now in the driving seat after the end of Day 3 in Adelaide. They have already attained the lead of 166 runs in the second innings with seven wickets remaining. The encounter at Adelaide Oval has already been a witness to a controversy when Indian captain Virat Kohli celebrated after Ishant Sharma did a cartwheel for Aaron Finch.

Ishant rattled Finch’s woodwork after which Virat celebrated quite aggressively, but it didn’t go down well with Aussie head coach Justin Langer. He mentioned that if one of Australia’s players done so, then it would’ve been a shambolic act. He also related the incident with the ball-tampering scandal at Newlands in Cape Town earlier in March.

However, Virat got support from the likes of Ajit Agarkar and VVS Laxman. In the meantime, the Indian skipper has also been a part of a heartwarming moment. On the third ball of the 34th over bowled by Nathan Lyon, Kohli hit a ball which crashed on to the throat of Aaron Finch, who was standing at short-leg and he was in severe pain after that. The Australian captain Tim Paine rushed towards the fielder in order to ask for his well-being

Finch was wearing a helmet, but it hit his neck so he beared the pain and hence, Lyon was ready to bowl the next ball, but, suddenly Kohli backed off to check on the fielder.  He left the crease and went straight towards Finch. The light-hearted moment was like a breath of fresh air amidst some competitive cricket. Luckily, Finch was up on his feet and play resumed soon after.

As far as batting is concerned, Kohli didn’t have the best of days. He tried to put his head down and scored 34 runs from 104 balls with the help of three boundaries. It was eventually dismissed by Lyon and the catch was taken by none other than Aaron Finch.  Nevertheless, Virat would be happy with his team’s performance.
