Virat Kohli, the heartbeat of Royal Challengers Bengaluru and arguably the biggest name in IPL history, continues to set new benchmarks in T20 cricket. Alongside his monumental international career for India, Kohli has become a dominant force in the IPL, holding records galore and maintaining an unmatched fanbase—especially on Instagram, where he’s the most followed Indian athlete.

Yet despite his soaring popularity, fans began noticing a change in Kohli’s digital presence over the last couple of years. His social media, once a blend of personal milestones and cricketing updates, had turned into a platform dominated by brand collaborations and promotional content.
Recently, eagle-eyed fans spotted that Virat had quietly archived a bulk of those promotional posts, sparking speculation across the internet. Putting the curiosity to rest, Kohli addressed the change in a candid conversation with Danish Sait during the IPL 2025.

Speaking with characteristic honesty, the RCB star revealed that he’s currently in a phase where he prefers to keep his social media engagement minimal. “I’m in a very interesting space with social media. At the moment, I’m not in a place where I want to engage too much. You never know what the future holds, but a reset was definitely needed,” Kohli shared in a video posted by RCB.

On the field, Kohli has shown no signs of slowing down. Opening the innings with Phil Salt, he’s racked up 248 runs from six matches at a phenomenal average of 62.00, including three impressive half-centuries. His latest unbeaten 62 against Rajasthan Royals helped him achieve yet another historic milestone—becoming the first Asian cricketer to notch up 100 T20 fifties.
