The Indian skipper Virat Kohli is raring to play his first County cricket match for Surrey soon after the conclusion of the ongoing 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He will play a total of 6 matches in the month of June in England which also comprises of three matches in the limited overs format. In the process, Kohli will miss the historic one-off Test match against Afghanistan. However, because of his County commitments, the Indian skipper also set to miss the two-match T20 International series against Ireland which is scheduled to be held in the last week of June.
There is a possibility that India might field with the ‘A’ Test team for the against Afghanistan as they are concentrating more on the upcoming England tour. The key members of the Indian team are likely to travel with India A side under the coaching of Rahul Dravid to the UK. Ireland might face a similar Indian side which lifted the Nidahas Trophy in March 2018.
As per the reports in Times Now, Virat Kohli will not take any part in the series against Ireland as well as he will be playing for Surrey at the same time. His last game of the County Championship against Yorkshire will start on June 25 as the Ireland T20Is will commence only two days later. India and Ireland are set to lock horns on June 27 and 29 before the three-match T20I series against England begins on July 1.

Interestingly, the players picked in India A squad will not play in the three-match T20I series against England. Though Virat will return to the international cricket after his County stint and lead the side in the shortest format of the game against the English team. The selectors will pick the teams for their recent upcoming assignments on May 8 and it will be interesting to see the way teams will stack up.
