The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli was seen playing an exquisite cover-drive during the ongoing World Test Championship final against New Zealand. He played his signature shot against Neil Wagner during the inaugural World Test Championship final on Saturday at Ageas Bowl. It was a sight to behold as Kohli – who walked into bat after India lost both the openers in quick succession – leaned into the delivery and with a checked drive helped the ball race across the surface for a boundary.
The shot not only had class written all over it but it also showed the intent of the Indian skipper, who was is in no mod of letting the loose ball go away even if a session break is near. Virat Kohli, who has not got a century in the last two seasons – would be hungry to get among the runs as he is due for a big one.

During the toss, Virat Kohli said, “We would’ve probably bowled first as well. But runs on the board has been our strength. In a big final, runs on the board, however many, are an advantage. As you saw the makeup of our side, the balance is such that we prepare for any conditions. We’ve been performing really well in Test cricket. For us this is just a Test match we have to be professional in, have to follow our processes.”
