While it was not specifically mentioned in the advisory, the fine was most probably imposed due to Kohli’s aggressive celebrations after the dismissal of CSK batter Shivam Dube. Dube played another fiery knock of 52 from 26 balls and was dismissed by RCB fast bowler Wayne Parnell.

A similar fine was handed out to Mumbai Indians (MI) spinner Hrithik Shokeen as he did a wild celebration and the subsequent on-field spat with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Nitish Rana.

In the match on Monday, Batting first, the MS Dhoni-led side did just that as Devon Conway amassed 83 runs in 45 deliveries, and Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube played fiery cameos of 37 and 52 runs respectively helping the four-time champions post whopping 226 runs on the board after 20 overs.

Coming in to chase the mammoth target, the hosts witnessed the worst of starts as Virat Kohli, who had been in sensational form recently, was dismissed for just six runs. However, skipper Faf du Plessis played resilient innings, amassing 62 runs in just 33 deliveries to give his side some hope.

Furthermore, Glenn Maxwell’s fabulous knock of 76 runs brought the team ever closer to chasing the huge target, and with Dinesh Karthik’s late push of scoring 28 runs, the Faf du Plessis-led side looked like the favorites. Although Chennai’s bowling attack hindered the hosts’ plans, Tushar Deshpande scalped three wickets, with Matheesha Pathirana taking a couple of wickets to defeat Bangalore at home. The four-time champions won the match by eight runs.
