The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is almost a week away and this means the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will again be trying to win their maiden title in the cash-rich league. RCB players arrived in UAE on August 21 and after completing their mandatory quarantine period of 6 days before commencing their training in Dubai. The RCB skipper, Virat Kohli stepped inside the practice nets after a huge gap of five months and acknowledged that he was “very scared” ahead of his first training session.
Virat timed his pull shot wonderfully well as he hit the nets after close to 5 months of being restricted indoors in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Now, in a static video posted by him on Wednesday, the RCB captain can be seen looking all set with a lot of fire in his eyes before the Bangalore-based franchise’s first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on September 21.
Captioning the video on Twitter Kohli wrote: “Another productive day training. A few days more”.

While the RCB is one of the most followed IPL franchises, the tragedy is that they have never been able to claim an IPL title. Needless to say, the pressure is on the team and it was acknowledged by RCB chairman Sanjeev Churiwala. However, he also backed Kohli as the captain and attested that he will always be leading the franchise.

Talking about the same, Kohli said, “We definitely feel it will. We are not going to think of what-ifs, we know what we can do as a team. And we’re just very, very keen and hungry to go out there and do it.”
The tournament is scheduled to be commencing on September 19 in the UAE and all teams have begun their camps in preparation for the competition. BCCI’s strict coronavirus SOPs are in place which will help in the execution of the IPL 2020 successfully amid the pandemic.
