While the Indian captain Virat Kohli was set to make his debut in the County cricket, a neck injury has forced him to miss out that. Now, the Indian captain is working hard to get fit before their England tour starts. Recently, he shared a message on the social media to clear his present injury status.
During the England tour, India will play 3-match T20I series, 3-match ODI series and 5-match Test series against the hosts England. Before that series, India will also play two-match T20I series against the hosts Ireland. Before the beginning of that UK tour, Kohli had decided to play the County cricket for Surrey to adjust the unfamiliar condition.
But his recent neck injury forced him to miss the County stint. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain got that injury during their IPL game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Bengaluru. Though he played the next game against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur which was also their last game in IPL 2018, he is taking no further risk before beginning their major tour in England.
On Tuesday, Kohli posted a video on Twitter where he shared a message with his fans on his present injury status. He said, “Hey guys, a lot of hard work is going on. The rehab is on and just doing what I can do best and what I am allowed to do at the moment. Hard work is the only way and hard work always pays off.”

Earlier, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) released a press conference to clarify Virat Kohli’s fitness issue. The release claimed that Kohli will undergo a fitness test from June 15 at the NCA in Bengaluru.
The release said, “Team India Captain Mr Virat Kohli suffered a neck injury while fielding during Match 51 of the VIVO IPL between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad on 17th May 2018 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Mr Kohli, who was scheduled to play for Surrey CCC in the month of June, has been ruled out from participating.
“This decision was taken following assessments by the BCCI Medical team, subsequent scans, and a specialist visit. The Team India captain will now undergo a period of rehabilitation under the supervision of the BCCI Medical team.
“He will begin training and subsequently undergo a fitness test at the NCA in Bengaluru from June 15. The BCCI Medical Team is confident that Mr Kohli will regain full fitness ahead of India’s upcoming tours to Ireland and England.”
