Sledging in cricket is very common nowadays and we can often see this during games, including IPL. However, a couple of years ago, Royal Challengers Bangalore star batter Virat Kohli revealed a hilarious incident of how Delhi Capitals’ Rishabh Pant tried to sledge him during an IPL match as well. Kohli shared the funny incident during an appearance with football legend Sunil Chhetri on a special show on Star Sports.

“This was 2017, so we were seventh and Delhi was eighth and both the teams were playing their last game. So Rishabh was going at me, ‘chalo chalo, pressure mein hain’ (Let’s go, he’s under pressure). I looked at him and laughed,” Kohli recalled about the amusing incident. “I said, ‘tu kya kar raha hai?’ (What are you doing?). So he’s telling me, ‘bhai bolna toh padega hi, out kaise karenge warna?’ (I have to say it, otherwise how will we get you out?). I told him, the bowlers who are bowling must have the belief that they can get me out,” the RCB star continued.

“Then he said, ‘baat toh sahi hai, lekin main toh karunga’ (You are right, but I will still do it). I said okay, one day you will be in the (same) change room. Where will you run then?,” Virat Kohli concluded.

However, Delhi Capitals finished sixth in IPL 2017 (out of eight teams). They played 14 matches so far, winning six and losing eight as well. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru finished in last place, winning only three matches and losing 10 as well whereas one of their games ended in a no result as well.
