Royal Challengers Bengaluru created IPL history with their successful title defence on Sunday night, but one of the most memorable moments after the IPL 2026 final had little to do with cricket. Instead, it was a heartwarming interaction involving Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, and Krunal Pandya’s young son that quickly won over fans on social media.

Following RCB’s convincing five-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, players and their families gathered on the field ahead of the post-match presentation ceremony. Amid the celebrations, Virat Kohli was seen standing alongside Anushka Sharma, soaking in another historic achievement for the Bengaluru franchise.
As Krunal Pandya walked by carrying his son, Kohli immediately paused to greet the youngster. The former RCB captain warmly embraced the child, playfully pulled his cheeks, and shared a brief conversation that brought smiles all around. Anushka watched the adorable exchange with delight, while nearby players also appeared amused by the wholesome moment.

The clip quickly went viral across social media platforms, with fans praising Kohli’s affectionate gesture. While RCB’s title triumph dominated headlines, this candid interaction emerged as one of the most talked-about moments of the night.
The celebrations followed a landmark achievement for Bengaluru. By defeating the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final, RCB became only the third franchise in tournament history to win back-to-back IPL titles. Previously, only Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians had successfully defended the championship.

The victory further highlighted the remarkable consistency shown by Rajat Patidar’s side throughout the season. After ending their long title drought in 2025, RCB returned even stronger in 2026, finishing the campaign as deserving champions once again.
Despite the historic achievement, reports suggested that large public celebrations were not immediately planned. The franchise indicated that festivities would remain largely within the dressing room and team hotel, with the squad expected to stay in Ahmedabad after the final.

While RCB celebrated a memorable night, the Gujarat Titans experienced a worrying incident after the match. According to reports, the team bus carrying players and support staff suffered a short circuit while returning to the hotel. Smoke reportedly filled parts of the vehicle, prompting an immediate evacuation.
Fortunately, all players and staff members were safely escorted off the bus without injuries. A replacement vehicle was later arranged, ensuring the squad returned safely after an eventful end to their IPL 2026 campaign.
