Indian captain Virat Kohli is enjoying the purple patch in his career both on and off the cricket field. His achievements have been increasing each passing day along with his stardom. In an increase to the same, now, he features at number 3 in the Forbes India list of Celebrity 100.
The list released by Forbes India, features 100 celebrities with highest earnings in the calendar year. Needless to say, Kohli is the highest rated cricketer on the list. As per the official records of Forbes India, Virat has earned as much as INR 100.72 crore this year. Kohli has different sources of incomes. He is Grade A cricketer of the BCCI – Grade A is awarded to the top pool of cricketers.
Also, he gets additional captaincy allowances for leading the country across the three formats of the game. In addition to this, Virat is also the highest paid cricketer in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL). Furthermore, he endorses around 20 brands and one of them was the mega-deal with Puma.
Virat Kohli is only behind the two popular Khans of the Bollywood in the list. Salman Khan takes the numero uno position with gross earnings of INR 232.83 crore followed by Shah Rukh Khan, who has earned INR 170.5 crore in 2017. Kohli was recently named as the most valued celebrity in terms of brand value on another list.
The only other cricketers in the top 10 of this list 100 are Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. Sachin Tendulkar is standing at number 5 in the on with earnings close to INR 82.5 crore. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni is placed at number 8 with INR 63.77 crore to his name in 2017. Interestingly, Virat is also the youngest among the top 10 in the list. In fact, he is the only one below 30 years of age.
