Arguably, the world’s best batsman across the formats in modern-day cricket, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper, Virat Kohli has also been known for being one of the best fielders making rounds in world cricket as well. But during the ongoing match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), it was Virat Kohli’s supreme athleticism while fielding that stole the limelight.
The RCB skipper’s superb diving catch was good enough to send back the young CSK opener, Ruturaj Gaikwad to the pavilion and it left the batsman completely stunned. The effort was so stunning that the third umpire had to come in and take a look but Michael Gough delivered his verdict sending Ruturaj Gaikwad back.

Before this match, RCB has struggled with their opening pair failing to fire in tandem. On Friday, both of them brought up their half-centuries after MS Dhoni asked RCB to bat first. But despite the duo’s partnership, RCB lost steam and ended up with 156/6 in 20 overs.
However, chasing the target, Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad gave CSK a great start, blasting to 59 runs in the powerplay, IPL 2021’s highest score in the first six overs. But the Virat Kohli catch and Faf Du Plessis’ wicket from Glenn Maxwell in the next over helped RCB bounce back.
