The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli pulled off a superhuman effort to dismiss the debut Australian all-rounder, Cameron Green during the Day 2 of the first Test in Adelaide. On the second day of the game when the Indian fielders were facing significant criticism for dropped catches, Kohli took an absolute blinder to cut-short Green’s innings.
The dismissal took place in the 41st over of the Australian innings, as after Green’s wicket, half the Aussie side was back to the pavilion. Green played a pull shot on a relatively short-pitched delivery from Ravichandran Ashwin, and Virat Kohli, who was standing at midwicket, dived to his right to take an incredible catch.

Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah and Prithvi Shaw dropped Marnus Labuschagne early in his innings, while Wriddhiman Saha also missed a half-chance to dismiss the batsman as he fell short to take a diving catch behind the wickets.
Legendary Indian cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar had later criticized the Indian fielders for being too sloppy on the field. After Labuschagne was dropped by Shaw at a score of 22, In the commentary, Gavaskar said, “All I can think of is the Indians are in a Christmas mood. Giving their Christmas gifts a week early.”

Green’s wicket was Ravichandran Ashwin’s third of the innings. The off-spinner kept on troubling the Australian batsmen throughout the game and had dismissed Steve Smith and Travis Head earlier.
India was bowled out on 244 in the first innings, with Kohli top-scoring for the side (74). In the third session on Day 2, Australia was down to 167/9 in 67 over.
