Virat Kohli’s fitness has become one of the biggest talking points ahead of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL 2026 clash against Lucknow Super Giants. The RCB star had walked off the field with an ankle concern during the previous match against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, but he looked far more comfortable when he returned to training on the eve of the next game.

Kohli took part in an extended batting session and spent time with his teammates in his usual relaxed mood, which will be a relief for RCB fans. The only visible concern was a strapping on his left knee, but he still moved freely and spent valuable time in the nets.
A video shared by Lucknow Super Giants showed Kohli greeting Kane Williamson, who is now part of LSG’s support staff, before sharing a warm hug with skipper Rishabh Pant.

Despite the minor concern, Virat Kohli’s form remains a major positive for RCB. He has already scored 179 runs in four matches this season at an impressive average of 59.66.

In the previous game against the Mumbai Indians, he struck a fluent 38-ball half-century, hitting five boundaries and a six.
RCB will once again lean on their powerful batting unit as they look to break away from the mid-table congestion and keep their momentum going. Kohli has been central to that surge, but he is not alone. Phil Salt, Rajat Patidar, Tim David and Devdutt Padikkal have all made strong contributions with the bat.

Together, RCB’s top order and middle order have dominated IPL 2026 so far, smashing 52 sixes in just four matches, the most by any team this season. They have crossed the 200-run mark in every game, a clear sign of the aggressive batting template that has defined their campaign.
