Virat Kohli Urges Indian People To Follow Covid-19 Protocols

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli appealed to citizens of the country to follow Covid-19 protocols and “wear a mask, keep social distance & hand hygiene” in a video posted by the Delhi Police. In the video, Virat Kohli was heard saying, “As you all know, Covid cases are on the rise in India again. If you’re venturing out for essential services, please wear a mask. Please maintain social distancing. Please keep sanitizing your hands. Taking these precautions is very necessary.”

Tweeting about the same, Delhi Police wrote: “VIRAT KOHLI @imVkohli Team India Captain appeals to citizens to observe #covid protocol & #lockdown to fight the current wave. Wear mask, keep social distance & hand hygiene. Cooperate with #DelhiPolice & behave responsibly, he says, for victory over corona as #IndiaFightsBack.”

 Covid-19 cases have been increasing at an alarming rate in India during the second wave of the pandemic with several states and cities under curfew and lockdown as a measure to stop the spread of Coronavirus.

Kohli is in Mumbai with leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore, in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. RCB will now be locking horns with Rajasthan Royals (RCB) in the next game in IPL on Thursday at Wankhede Stadium.

Currently, RCB is the only team that hasn’t lost a game in the 14th edition of the cash-rich league. They have won all three of their games in the tournament and sit atop the points table with six points.

However, RCB will be playing their first game of the season in Mumbai, as earlier in Chennai, where they registered wins against Mumbai Indians (MI), Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) respectively.
