ICC World Cup is all set to begin in England from May 30 where Virat Kohli will lead India for the first time in the World Cup. He made his World Cup debut in 2011 and came into limelight with the century in the first match against Bangladesh and he was the vice-captain of MS Dhoni in the 2015 edition where he scored a hundred against Pakistan. Kohli is one of the key players for India, having 10,000 runs from 227 matches at an average of nearly 60, he is just 9 centuries away from breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries.
However, with the balanced team and Kohli’s formidable form, expectations are high from the team. In the pre-tournament interaction among the captains, all the 10 captains were asked whom they would choose for their team from the other side and only Jason Holder expressed his happiness with his current team. While Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza chose Kohli to be in his team, South Africa captain Faf du Plessis chose Rashid Khan and Pat Cummins. Virat Kohli, however, picked Shane Warne, the veteran leg-spinner of Australia in his team and shared the reason as well.

“There have been so many great players in the past and it is tough to name one. But, if I have to pick one player in my team than it has to be Shane Warne. I’m always fascinated by his bowling. Just being in the same XI alongside him and watching him bowl would be a treat for any player,” said Kohli.
Kohli even chose Faf du Plessis in his team, saying, “It is very difficult to choose someone. We feel we are such a strong side. But if I have to choose one from the current lot…since AB (de Villiers) is retired now, I would choose Faf (du Plessis).”
Q: Which player from another team would you pick in your side? @imVkohli: Faf du Plessis!
