Virat Kohli Wishes His Brother As AB de Villiers Turns 36

The veteran South African cricketer, AB de Villiers is celebrating his 36th birthday on Monday and his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate, Virat Kohli led the birthday wishes. Kohli, who shares the dressing room with de Villiers, was among the many who wished him on his brother’s birthday.

Taking to Twitter, Kohli wrote: “Happy bday brother. Wish you all the happiness and good health and lots of love to the family. See you soon.”

KL Rahul, who also played with the South African superstar during his time at RCB, tweeted: “Happy birthday to Mr 360 @ABdeVilliers17 Have a good one lej, see you soon at the @IPL.”

Out of favor India batsman, Suresh Raina, in his birthday message for Mr. 360, as he tweeted: “Sending the bestest wishes for Mr. 360. Have a great, great birthday brother see u soon! @ABdeVilliers17.”

De Villiers, who holds the record of the fastest ODI century which he smashed against West Indies in 31 balls, represented South Africa in 228 ODIs, scoring 9,577 runs at a phenomenal average of 53.50. In Tests, he has scored runs at an average of 50.66, scoring 8,765 in 114 matches. RCB bought the services of ABD since 2011, having played for Delhi Daredevils (now capitals) between 2008-2010.

De Villiers, who has been named the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year on three different occasions, holds the record for the fastest century in the format. The former South Africa captain retired from international cricket in March 2018. He has since been active in the franchise-based T20 tournaments around the world.

However, South Africa head coach Mark Boucher has once again stated that they can consider de Villiers for the T20 World Cup provided he is in good form and makes himself available for the tournament. He has so far played 78 T20Is in which he has scored 1672 runs, averaging 26.12 with a strike rate of 135.16. He was last seen in action in the Big Bash League (BBL) for Brisbane Heat.
