The event witnessed a vibrant atmosphere, with the men’s team paying tribute to their victorious counterparts, the RCB women’s team led by Smriti Mandhana, who clinched the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) title.

Amidst the palpable excitement, Virat Kohli emerged as a focal point, eliciting fervent cheers from the crowd. However, amidst the adulation, Kohli seized the moment to address a pertinent matter, urging the fans to refrain from using the term “King” in reference to him.

In response to the uproar of chants, Kohli humorously intervened, emphasizing the need to maintain decorum as they had a chartered flight to catch. “Firstly, you need to stop calling me that word [King]. I was telling Faf that it is very embarrassing for me when you call me that name every year, just call me Virat,” VIrat Kohli remarked, eliciting laughter from the audience.

With the RCB women’s triumph in the WPL serving as a source of inspiration, Kohli expressed his aspirations to replicate their success and secure the IPL trophy for the men’s team. Reflecting on the women’s achievement, Kohli conveyed his admiration, envisioning a potential double triumph for RCB in the upcoming season.

“It was absolutely amazing. When they won it (WPL), we were watching. Hopefully, we can double it up with the trophies, and that will be something truly special,” Virat Kohli remarked, echoing the sentiments of fans eagerly awaiting IPL glory.
