In a tense moment at the Chinnaswamy Stadium during the IPL 2025 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans, RCB fans collectively held their breath as Virat Kohli suffered an injury scare. The incident occurred in the 12th over when Sai Sudharsan pulled a short ball from Krunal Pandya towards deep mid-wicket. Kohli, fielding in the deep, dived in an attempt to stop the boundary but ended up injuring his right hand in the process.

The ball raced away to the ropes, while Virat Kohli immediately went down on his knees, clutching his hand in visible pain. The RCB medical staff rushed in to assess the situation, applying magic spray to relieve the discomfort. Despite the injury scare, Kohli showed his trademark resilience, opting to stay on the field.

While he appeared fine to continue, finger injuries can be tricky, often worsen over time. The next 12-24 hours will be crucial for RCB’s talisman, and if any swelling develops, he might have to undergo precautionary scans. However, early signs indicate that Kohli should be fit to feature in the next match.

Earlier in the game, Kohli had a rare off day with the bat, managing just 7 runs off 6 deliveries before falling cheaply. So far, the RCB star has accumulated 97 runs in IPL 2025, including a half-century in their opening fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Meanwhile, RCB’s batting struggles continued, with their top order failing to fire. However, the lower middle order, led by Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, and Tim David, staged a late recovery, adding crucial runs to push RCB to a competitive total. Their counterattack ensured that Bengaluru at least had a fighting chance despite the early setbacks.

Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, started dominantly, particularly in the powerplay. But they momentarily lost control in the middle overs, with Rashid Khan enduring an expensive spell, conceding 54 runs in his four overs. Thankfully, Sai Kishore kept things tight, preventing RCB from posting an above-par total.
