Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, RCB’s Faf du Plessis showcased excellent form, scoring boundaries in the powerplay. However, apart from du Plessis, RCB’s top order struggled, with Mustafizur Rahman claiming crucial wickets. It was the resilient partnership between Dinesh Karthik and Anuj Rawat that propelled RCB to a competitive total of 173/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

In response, Chennai Super Kings showcased a team effort, with contributions from various batters. Debutant Rachin Ravindra’s explosive innings set the tone, followed by pivotal partnerships involving Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja.
