On Saturday, July 7, the cricketing fraternity celebrated the birthday of one of the most successful skipper of international cricket, MS Dhoni and on Sunday, July 8, is the birthday of the former Indian skipper who change the mindset of Indian cricket, Sourav Ganguly, who has turned 46.
Ganguly has always been known to have taken the Indian cricket to pioneering heights during his 16-year long international career, both as a batsman and as a leader. It was under his captaincy that Team India started to think of winning in overseas conditions and a plethora of youngsters also went on to write the history of Indian cricket in his era.
One of his favorite cogs, Virender Sehwag took to Twitter and wished Ganguly in his quirky style. He wrote, “Step 1-Wake up, blink your eyes twice & dance down the track. Step 2-Smash the bowler & at times even spectators(no violence intended). Step 3-Swing not only the ball but also ur hair, bowl ur heart out. Step 4-Celebrate like no one’s watching. To a wonderful man, #HappyBirthdayDada.”

Under Ganguly’s leadership, not only did the team win matches at home but also started to impress on foreign turfs. The fearless brand of cricket played by the current Indian team can be credited to Ganguly’s vision to fight fire with fire.
