Former Indian opener, Virender Sehwag has started preparing for the Legends League Cricket benefit game, which will be kickstarting on September 16. Sehwag has been appointed as the captain of Indian Maharajas in the benefit match against the World Giants. Sehwag has previously led the Delhi (Daredevils) Capitals and Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League.
Virender Sehwag took to his official Instagram handle to share a video in which he can be seen batting in the nets. He shared the video with the caption: “Taiyaari shuru #practice #kabhikabhikarletahoon #legendsleague”.

Earlier, talking about the game, Virender Sehwag had said, “I am excited to get back to the Cricket ground again. Having Adani Group as Team Principal and a professional outfit like Gujarat Giants is a perfect way to kick start this cricketing inning once again.”

He further added, “I have personally always believed in playing fearless cricket and I will continue to propagate the same brand of cricket here too. We are extremely excited and eagerly waiting for the draft to pick our team.”
Former World Cup-winning Australian coach John Buchanan and Lalchand Rajput will be coaching India Maharajas and World Giants respectively for the benefit match.

As the legendary cricketers from 10 countries will be seen in action, Sehwag’s Gujarat Giants and Gautam Gambhir’s India Capitals will lock horns in the league opener in Kolkata on September 17. Manipal Tigers and Bhilwara Kings will also be part of the four-team league. Lucknow, New Delhi, Cuttack, and Jodhpur are the other venues for the upcoming edition of Legends League Cricket, which will go on till October 5.
