India’s 3-1 victory in the T20I series against South Africa was hailed as a “special effort” by head coach VVS Laxman. Following their commanding 135-run win in the fourth match, Laxman praised the team’s spirit and the impactful performances from key players such as Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson, and Varun Chakravarthy.
VVS Laxman took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his pride, writing, “Really proud of our guys for the spirit with which they played this entire series. The 3-1 win is a special effort, brilliantly led by Suryakumar Yadav. Samson and Tilak were unstoppable with the bat, and Varun Chakravarthy was outstanding with the ball.”
Laxman further commended the team’s camaraderie, adding, “The entire team, the way they played and enjoyed each other’s success, couldn’t be prouder of the boys. Congratulations on a memorable win.” His words reflected the collective effort that led India to this significant victory.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav also described the win as a “special” one, acknowledging the challenge of winning series overseas. Speaking to the team in the dressing room, he emphasized the importance of the aggressive approach adopted in the final match, despite leading 2-1 in the series. “Everybody stepped up,” he said, giving credit to the entire team for their performance. “We won this series as a team.”
