The former Indian Test cricketer VVS Laxman feels that the present Indian side has already found a huge portion of their winning combination for the upcoming 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, which is just five months to go.
While the 2019 ICC CWC is coming near, which will be played in England and Wales between 30 May and 14 July 2019, the two-time World Cup champion Indian side is growing up one of the favourite sides of the tournament.
Now, Laxman feels India has already found their winning combination for the upcoming big tournament. He believes that India has now only need to find out the backup of two Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Laxman told Timesnow.com, “I think 80 percent. I still feel they have already found their winning combination. I think the only area they have to freeze on is fast bowlers backing Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. So I’m sure in the next few matches, they will also be able to find backup of Bumrah and Kumar. Once they do that, they look a set Indian team.”

After the 1983 and 2011 World Cup triumph, the whole nation is now dreaming to watch the same picture again in the 2019 ICC CWC. To regain the WC trophy once again, Laxman feels India needs to make stronger the bowling side because their batting has a lot of depth.
Laxman added, “I think the bowling department. Because there is a lot of depth in the batting department. But in the bowling department, especially, the conditions are very flat and if they have to win, it is very important to pick up wickets. The challenge for the Indian team will be to pick wickets at regular intervals. And if they can manage it, they can put pressure on the best of teams,”

India’s middle-order batting is a concern in the recent days. However, Laxman doesn’t agree with this fact as he believes that it has enough experience.
He said, “I think the middle-order is experienced. The way Ambati Rayudu batted at No.4 against West Indies established himself. We got Dhoni at No.5 and Kedar Jadhav is a very good player at No.6. Overall, in the batting department, there is a class, there is an experience and there is potential as well.”
