Former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni has always been known for surprising his opponent and at times his teammates have been well-documented by those he has played with and against. However, recently during a show on Star Sports, former Indian cricketer, VVS Laxman said that once Dhoni decided to drive the team bus from the ground to the hotel during the fourth Test against Australia in Nagpur in 2008.
Recalling the incident, Laxman said, “He was the captain of the Indian team because Anil (Kumble) announced his retirement two matches before in Delhi (in 2008). And MS Dhoni asked the team bus driver to just go and sit behind, and he drove the team bus from the ground to the hotel in Nagpur, and we were all awestruck.”

He further added, “The captain of the Indian team, driving the team bus! That’s how he used to enjoy his life. For him, being a cricketer was doing everything on the cricket field, but outside the field, everything was normal.”
It was the final Test of the four-match series and Dhoni, leading India for the first time in Tests, amassed 56 in the first innings as India posted 441 and 55 in the second in India’s 295. The hosts won the match by 172 runs and the series 2-0.
Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15 through an Instagram post and ended his career of 15 years that began in 2004. He shared a video and captioned the post, “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired.”
The video had the iconic song ”Mai Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hu” from Amitabh Bachchan’s ”Kabhie Kabhie” playing in the background and in it, Former Indian skipper went on to share his incredible journey for India including his run out in the last game against New Zealand in the World Cup 2019 semi-final.

In December 2014, he announced his retirement from Tests and gave a chance to the likes of Wriddhiman Saha. He will now be expected to make a comeback on the cricket field for the IPL 2020 which scheduled to be played However, the tournament will now be played in the UAE from September 19 to November 10.
