The young Indian opener, Prithvi Shaw showcased his mettle with the bat in the first ODI of the ongoing tour against Sri Lanka. He played an impressive knock of 24-ball 43 with the help of 9 boundaries. The right-handed batsman was looking to punish any type of delivery and there was no stopping him. He provided the right start to the game which helped India to register a comfortable win.
As a result, India managed to chase down the target with relative ease. Prithvi Shaw was adjudged the man of the match for his blistering performance. In the wake of his knock, former Indian stalwarts were seen praising the youngster for his fabulous knock. Even former Indian opener Virender Sehwag reserved the highest respect for Shaw.

India won the first ODI by 7 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series. However, during the second ODI against Sri Lanka, Prithvi Shaw failed to give the much-needed start to the Indian team as he initially looked intimidating when he smashed three fours during the run-chase.
Earlier, Sri Lanka managed to reach a competitive total of 275 for the loss of 9 wickets in their quota of 50 overs. Prithvi Shaw has perfected the art of scoring runs at a brisk pace. He has done that more often than not in the Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing for Delhi Capitals alongside his senior teammate, Shikhar Dhawan.
