However, as per the reports, the all-rounder will not be part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team for the rest of the IPL 2021 as well. Meanwhile, the BCCI hopes to bring him back for the all-important T20 World Cup later this year.

Notably, Washington Sundar was injured while playing for County Select XI against India in a three-day warm-up game which was the preparation for the upcoming five-match Test series as well. On the other hand, despite the injury, he took the field on the final day and felt discomfort while batting and bowling as well.

However, according to the news, the all-rounder might go for the surgery after the event as it can seriously affect his career in future as well. Apart from Washington Sundar, Team India is already having facing injury concerns as players like Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan have already been ruled out as well. And, Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav are likely to be flown to the UK for the series as well.
