Indian spinner Washington Sundar, who has suffered an injury to his finger recently that forced him out of the upcoming test series against England, is now going to miss the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL). As per the reports, his injury would keep him out of the action for quite some time now as well.
However, as per the reports, the all-rounder will not be part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team for the rest of the IPL 2021 as well. Meanwhile, the BCCI hopes to bring him back for the all-important T20 World Cup later this year.

Notably, Washington Sundar was injured while playing for County Select XI against India in a three-day warm-up game which was the preparation for the upcoming five-match Test series as well. On the other hand, despite the injury, he took the field on the final day and felt discomfort while batting and bowling as well.
However, the youngster had complained of pain in his index finger during the World Test Championship as well. Meanwhile, the BCCI’s medical team has advised him a two-week break for that as well but he didn’t recover well. And, now, it has aggravated during the practice match.
However, according to the news, the all-rounder might go for the surgery after the event as it can seriously affect his career in future as well. Apart from Washington Sundar, Team India is already having facing injury concerns as players like Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan have already been ruled out as well. And, Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav are likely to be flown to the UK for the series as well.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are placed third in the points table after having a great start to the 14th edition of the IPL. And, they will certainly miss Washington Sundar who has picked up 3 wickets at an economy of 7.37 and did well with the bat too alongside Virat Kohli against the strong Mumbai Indians.
