India’s spin bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar has said that he is focusing on giving his 100 percent for the team and not thinking about the all-rounder’s spot which has been left vacant by veteran Ravindra Jadeja. However, Jadeja retired after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 win alongside Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Sundar, who won the Player of the Match award in the 3rd T20I vs Zimbabwe on Wednesday, opened up about this. The talented off-spinner said that he was focused on performing well for the team by giving his 100 percent. Sundar also added that he wanted to give his all in every single training session and the matches as well. Notably, Sundar claimed 3 wickets for just 15 runs in his full quota of 4 overs as well.

“I need to do well where I am good at and what I am capable of, especially with my preparation. I need to give my 100 per cent every single day. That’s something that I have not compromised on,” Washington Sundar said in the post-match press conference. “It (preparing well) keeps me in the present and obviously I am very confident as well (about his skills). It’s a great opportunity for me to play for India, and I am blessed with it. I need to keep my job consistently and keep preparing and keep getting better. That way everything will be taken care of,” Sundar concluded on the matter.”
