The young Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar grabbed a lot of eyeballs with his performance during the fourth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia earlier this year. He was with the team as a net bowler, but he got a chance in the fourth game after the injuries to both the first-choice spinners – Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin. Kuldeep Yadav was also available in the squad but the team management decided to go with Sundar owing to his batting abilities.

In the news that Australia fans might not be best pleased with, Washington Sundar has seemingly named his pet dog ‘Gabba’. Less than a couple of months after his phenomenal performances at the Gabba and breaking the Australian fans’ hearts with his all-around show, Sundar took to Instagram to share the interesting message. He posted a picture of himself standing with his mother, sister, and the new pet dog.

In his caption, Sundar did not reveal the name of the pet dog but made it very clear by writing: “Lovely few days with the fam! Guess who’s the new member of the house? Hint: My Test debut!”

Here is the Instagram post from Washington Sundar:

In the first innings, Sundar got the prized wicket of Steve Smith for 36 before accounting for Cameron Green and Nathan Lyon to help India stop the hosts from touching the 400-run mark. But his best performance came with the bat as he scored a fifty when India was reeling at 186 for 6 and shared a 123-run stand with Shardul Thakur to help India score 336.
