Washington Sundar Thanks His Fans And Family For The Support

After playing one of the best knocks of his cricketing career, the Indian all-rounder, Washington Sundar said it was a very special day and he also thanked his fans for all the love and wishes. Sundar was involved in a record-breaking partnership with Shardul Thakur which helped India to get back into the game on day three of the fourth Test against Australia at The Gabba on Sunday.

Tweeting about the same, Washington Sundar wrote: “Thank you so much for all the love, prayers, and wishes. It was indeed a very special day that I will remember always! #TeamIndia @BCCI.”

India managed to reach a total of 336 runs in the first innings of the Brisbane Test against Australia, conceding a leade of 33 runs to the hosts. Thakur was the highest run-scorer for the visiting team as he made 67 runs while Sundar accumulated 62 runs.

Thakur and Sundar’s 123-run resilient partnership helped the Indian team to breach the 300-run mark after losing six wickets under 190 runs in the first innings. The duo also registered the highest seventh-wicket partnership for India at The Gabba, Brisbane. Thakur and Sundar broke Kapil Dev and Manoj Prabhakar’s 58-run partnership record for the seventh-wicket set in 1991.

At stumps, Australia was at 21/0 in their second innings as they had taken an overall lead of 54 runs. David Warner is unbeaten on 20 runs while Marcus Harris is not out on one run. However, by the end of the first session on Day 4, the hosts had already lost 4 wickets.

However, India managed to get back in the game by dismissing Steve Smith in the second session as, before the rain delay, the hosts were standing at 243/7.
