The ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand was scheduled to commence on June 18, but the opening day of the much-awaited game was hampered due to persistent rain at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton which washed out the enitre Day 1 of teh game.
However, despite the rain wash-out, the spirits of the fans haven’t dampened on Twitter. While the rain continues to fall down in Southampton, Twitter has been flooded with hilarious memes.

Former Indian opener, Wasim Jaffer, who has carved a niche for himself on Twitter for sharing witty memes, was once again at it as he used the famous Arnab Goswami catchphrase- “The nation wants to Know”- to enquire from his former opening partner-turned commentator Dinesh Karthik about the chances of witnessing any game time in Southampton.

The Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Dinesh Karthik chose to reply with another hilarious meme of his own, suggesting that the chances of the game taking place on Day 1 are pretty slim.

For the uninitiated, the opening pair of Dinesh Karthik and Wasim Jaffer played a pivotal role in India winning its first Test series in England since 1986 way back in 2007.

Meanwhile, the chances 0f the WTC final commencing on Friday were slim and as a result, the day was called off by the officials eventually. That said, the rain has stopped later in the day and the covers were also taken off. But given the fact that more rain came on the night of Day 1 and very few storms expected on Saturday.
