At the start of the England innings, the sun was glowing and reduced the swing on the ball, and hence, the wicket looked more ideal for batting. Jaffer shared a meme from the movie ‘Khatta Meetha’, showing actors Akshay Kumar and Johnny Lever in a heavy roller that is used for making roads. The roller is also used in cricket grounds to make a pitch flatter, which makes batting easier. Jaffer apparently meant that the groundsmen used a heavy roller during the innings break to help the hosts.

Meanwhile, England openers started the chase strongly as openers Alex Lees and Zak Crawley came out all guns blazing and scored 107 runs in just 22 overs. Crawley was the first one to be dismissed after playing a brilliant knock of 46 runs off 76 balls, as he was castled by skipper Jasprit Bumrah with a ball that nipped back into the off-stump sharply.
