The second name on the list was IPL 2021 Purple Cap winner Harshal Patel. The next name on the list is Deepak Chahar. However, Wasim Jaffer mentioned that his selection will completely depend on his injury status. Jaffer also picked Sunrisers Hyderabad star, T Natarajan. The presence of Natarajan will give India variety in their pace attack since he is a left-arm fast bowler. Also, Natarajan has done well in Australian conditions during the 2020-21 tour.
