Former India player Wasim Jaffer has known for his cryptic and humourous tweets in recent times. While he shared several memes on social media on different things, his tweet regarding IPL 2021 has gone viral.  And, his tweet prior to the IPL 2021 match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals stole the limelight where he recalled the infamous incident of Ravichandran Ashwin mankading Jos Buttler through a picture of the blockbuster movie – Lagaan.

However, Wasim Jaffer is the batting coach of Punjab Kings for the IPL 2021 since the 2020 season where his side has started their campaign with a close win against Rajasthan Royals, securing a win by four runs in a last-ball thriller. However, Rajasthan will next play against Delhi Capitals on Thursday, April 15.

And, Jaffer shared the screenshot from the ‘Lagaan’ movie which is also based on cricket and the story revolved around the villagers in India back in the late 1800s who had decided to play a cricket match with the British, in order to free themselves from taxes. And, during that match, a young player was mankaded by a British player.

However, with this picture, Jaffer mentioned the players to watch out for in the game. He posted with the caption, “Watchout for these two tonight #RRvsDC #IPL2021.” The caption was related to the incident when R Ashwin mankaded Jos Buttler in 2019. Ashwin used to play for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) at that time and was leading the side also against Rajasthan.

Rajasthan were going strong in the game just before Ashwin ran Jos Buttler out at the non-striker’s end, and the momentum soon shifted towards Punjab and they won that match. Even though the incident was fine by the laws, several people had criticized Ashwin for his move, saying that it did not go with the spirit of the game. Now, Ashwin plays for Delhi Capitals and once again he will take on Buttler, who will certainly be a little careful at the non-striker’s end in his overs as well.
