Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) has had an inconsistent outing in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 but their batting coach Wasim Jaffer has been delivering constantly on social media. Throughout the IPL, he has often been seen posting hilarious memes to describe the situations in the tournament and has become one of the fan favorites on the social media platform.
And even though the IPL campaign has come to an end for him and the franchise, Wasim Jaffer hasn’t stopped posting memes. He was at it again on Saturday when he took a dig at former USA President Donald Trump after the latter claimed that he had ‘won the election by a lot’. Trump has maintained that there has been an election fraud and suggested votes for his Democratic rival were not legal.

Nonetheless, Jaffer saw the funny side of Trump’s tweet and entertained is fans by comparing it with Kings XI Punjab’s campaign in IPL 2020. Taking inspiration from Trump’s tweet, Jaffer hilariously wrote, “KXIP WON THIS IPL, BY A LOT!”

Kings XI Punjab failed to reach the playoffs once again after finishing the league stage with six wins from 14 games. The Punjab-based franchise had commence their campaign on a disastrous note and had managed to win just one of their first seven games. For one reason or another, they were ending up on the wrong side of the result.

However, under the captaincy of KL Rahul, KXIP managed to pull things off tremendously in the second half of the competition and won five games on the trot to revive their playoffs hopes. Kings XI Punjab had their destiny in their own hands after those five wins coupled with other teams’ struggles towards the business end of the IPL 2020. Win in the last two games or even one would have seen them make it to the playoffs.
Despite the late boost, KXIP ended up losing both the games and eventually finished the competition at the sixth spot. Punjab has not made it to the playoffs since 2014 when they had lost the final to Kolkata Knight Riders.
