We have seen a lot of funny incidents so far on the field and one of them happened during New Zealand vs Bangladesh (NZvBAN) Test match. Tom Latham and Will Young were batting in the middle when a dropped catch witnessed seven overthrow runs as well.

Will Young

It happened in the 26th over when Ebadot Hossain was bowling. It was a back of a length delivery around off and Will Young got an outside edge as he tried to defend it. The fielder from the second slip tried to grab it, but it went straight to the first slip. But he failed to grab it and the ball went to the third man. The fielder from there threw the ball at the keeper’s end. And an overthrow at the bowler’s end witnessed four more runs. And, with this, New Zealand got seven runs eventually.

However, Ebadot Hossain, who claimed 11 wickets in his first 10 Tests, had said to Cricbuzz after the last Test, “During the 10-day quarantine, one day I was watching Ashes and saw Anderson picking up only one wicket after whole day’s play. What struck me most was that even though he was not picking wickets he just gave away around one and a half runs per over.”

“It made me think differently as he just concentrated on bowling in one channel despite not picking wickets. I spoke with our bowling coach Ottis Gibson about it and he told me that I should keep this lesson close to my heart. In the opening Test against New Zealand I just concentrated on one thing that I should not leak runs trying too many things and probably that worked for me against the New Zealanders,” he again shared.
