The Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who celebrates his 31st birthday on Tuesday, November 5 received a special birthday wish from his IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammates. Virat has proven his captaincy credentials with the good on-field tactics and at the same time has evidently shared a friendly relationship with his RCB team players off-field, especially with former Proteas player AB De Villiers.

In the video, Devilliers said, “Hi, there my biscuit. Virat, I just want to wish you a very happy birthday, but more importantly, I want to wish you a trophy in the 2020 IPL. I will be there by your side lifting it and celebrating it throughout the night.” Bowlers, Yuzvendra Chahal and Umesh Yadav also sent across their good wishes for Captain Kohli. Furthermore, Head Coach Simon Katich and Strength and Conditioning coach Shankar Basu also wished the ‘champion’. Here is the complete video:

On the occasion of Virat Kohli’s birthday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video that showed the clips from Kohli’s first century for India. Here is the video of the same:

Kohli’s exceptional journey was also acknowledged by the ICC. Taking to Twitter, ICC wrote his birthday wishes for the ‘player extraordinaire’.

Currently, Kohli is enjoying a holiday in Bhutan on Monday with wife Anushka Sharma posting a few pictures of their “8.5 km uphill trek” where they met a “beautiful and warm family”. In a series of tweets, Anushka revealed that those who know her and Kohli know that they love such “simple and pure human connection”.

In the absence of Kohli, the Indian batting line-up failed to live up to expectation at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi as they only managed to score 148/6 in their quota of 20 overs. India lost the opening encounter, as they suffered first ever defeat against the Bangladesh team in the shortest format.

India will be looking to bounce back in the second T20I which is scheduled to be held on November 7 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot while the third and final match will be held at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on November 10.

Kohli will be joining back the Indian team for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to commence on November 14 in Indore. It will be followed by the second Test is scheduled to start on November 22 in Kolkata which will be India’s first-ever day-night Test.
